Driver’s License

The requirements for renting a car in Dubai depend on the country that issued your driver’s license. Citizens of English-speaking countries and the EU typically only need their original national driver’s license and passport, while drivers from other parts of the world must also have an International Driver’s Permit (IDP).

Age

The minimum age is 18. A higher age limit applies to certain models; we will confirm this for the specific vehicle.

Deposit and Refund

The deposit amount depends on the vehicle category. It covers potential damage, traffic tickets, and Salik tolls.

System updates in the UAE (for traffic tickets and tolls) typically take 1 to 18 days. For this reason, we retain the minimum deposit for 20 to 28 days after the car is returned.

Insurance

Every car is rented with comprehensive insurance. If the vehicle is damaged, you do not pay for the damage – provided a police report is filed.

The insurance does not cover: driving on sand, driving under the influence of alcohol, or traveling outside the UAE without prior approval. In any of these cases, the renter is responsible for the full cost of the damage.
